KampusbeT ~ " Tottenham to put faith in Kevin Wimmer as Austrian prepares to deputise for crocked Jan Vertonghen "
Agen TangKasneT ~ Mauricio Pochettino will put his faith in young Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer after Jan Vertonghen’s injury blow.
Tottenham
centre-back Vertonghen is out for two months with a knee ligament
injury and Wimmer will be thrown into Spurs’ FA Cup trip to Colchester
as well as their push for a top-four finish.
Manager Pochettino has no doubts the £4.5million stopper can plug the gap because he reckons 23-year-old Wimmer is a carbon copy of Vertonghen.
The
Austria international has represented his country at Under-18, Under-21
and senior level, and Pochettino said: “He is like Vertonghen – but
younger!
“You can see that he is very calm, has a very good left
foot, is very strong and is a very nice person. He has a lot of
attributes.
“That’s why we signed him and maybe now he will have more
possibilities to play. This is a good example of when we rotate and give
chances to other players.
“You never know when something wrong can happen and we are sure Kevin can do well.
“He
has had the possibility to play in different games, but not as much as
maybe he expected here.
Bandar Judi Online TangKasneT ~ But he was good. He showed the quality and his
team-mates trust him.
“It is important because you never know
when a problem will arrive and, maybe the player who does not play too
much, will be a key player to achieve big things.”
The north
Londoners have become known down the years as a cup team but,
incredibly, have not won the FA Cup since 1991 – 25 years ago.
That is something Pochettino is determined to put right this season,
while also keeping their push going for a Champions League place.
The
Argentine manager added: “Our objective is to go far. But it’s true
that at every club I’ve been at as a player or a manager, I have heard
the importance of the historic FA Cup, all the history.
“Our
objective is to go as far as possible in the FA Cup, the Europa League
and the Premier League. We are Tottenham so our priority in every
competition is to go far.
“It is not easy to win a title when you have to fight with big, big clubs.
“But we are here for that, to try to change the history and to win some titles. This is our challenge.”
