And even today, while at Old Trafford as a pundit and not a player, Scholes brought a smile back to United fans' faces.

The former midfielder was responding to the sale of Jose Mourinho scarves outside of the ground prior to the crunch clash with Chelsea on Monday. 

Upon seeing the new merchandise, Scholes allegedly said: "I'm not sure what that clown is doing."

Arguably worse than half-and-half scarves, the new Mourinho knitwear was complete with the Special One's face and name alongside the Manchester United club badge.

They were on sale outside within sight of the stadium before the match, with a handful of fans opting to buy the scarf.

Bandar Judi Online Klik4D  ~   Some supporters were spotted wearing the scarves while sporting banners insisting that it was time for Mourinho to come in and replace Van Gaal.

Mourinho is the favourite to become the next permanent manager at Old Trafford having being sacked by Chelsea earlier this month.

The Portuguese's agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that he is confident of getting a job when he returns from a holiday.

Mendes told Sky Sport Italia: “Mourinho is now in Brazil. Let's see what will happen when he returns. 

"Jose has to feel comfortable because he is the No 1 in the world."

He added: "Will we see him back in Italy? For now, I am not going to speak about Spain nor England nor Italy. I repeat, he is No 1 and now he is on holiday.”
