Agen Bola Terpercaya EURO 2016  ~   Steffen Freund has urged Spurs to keep hold of Harry Kane – insisting that, if they do, the club will become “world-class”.

The Tottenham cult hero believes that cashing in on their prized asset would be pointless, ahead of the completion of their 61,000-capacity stadium.

The German is convinced that his old club is now better-placed to offer Kane and other emerging stars the prospect of Champions League football more readily than today’s opponents Manchester United.

And resistance to any moves will send out a signal that Spurs’ days as a selling club are well and truly over – with key players such as Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Carrick and Sol Campbell lured away in the past.

Freund was a Champions League winner with Dortmund in 1997 and a winner with Germany in the European Championship, 12 months prior to that.

He played for Spurs from 1999-2003 and then became their assistant manager from 2012-14.

And he reckons that the boys from White Hart Lane have undergone a complete change of mentality since the arrival of new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

He said: “For me, there’s been a bit of a change in philosophy. I remember, from my time there, the club’s motto was ‘To dare is to do’. We would rather draw 4-4 than win ugly 1-0.

“There are not the individuals. There are young English players and it’s a change of philosophy. It means they play more as a team.”

Pochettino has regularly rotated players – especially between league and cup matches. And Freund believes that could now start to bear fruit as their league challenge reaches its crucial stage.

Nonton Bioskop Online GRATIS  ~   He said: “Players are tired at the end of the season. Some clubs can over-value rotation at the start of the campaign.

“But they get an advantage from it at the end of the season. At the end is when it comes good, if you’ve rotated earlier.

“Tottenham are young and fit. They’re the youngest team in the Premier League. The players are fit and rarely injured. They’ve got a good team spirit.

“It’s hard to beat Tottenham. The spirit at Tottenham and at Leicester is stronger than at many of the other teams in the Premier League.

“In England, there’s no winter break, players are more tired. At Tottenham, it may be an advantage for the rest of the season that they keep their players fresh.”

Freund has singled out Eric Dier, who plays in his old central defensive midfield position, and insists that he is another player the club dare not let go.

He said: “Dier has a defender inside him – he was brought up as a defender. He can solve a one-against-one situation. Eric knows what it means to follow an opponent, to not let him run.

“He played at right-back after he didn’t get a place at centre-back. He has a certain dynamic. He’s a technically good player.

“As a right-back, he got to move on the right side of midfield and was able to make the next step to playing in midfield.”
