Kampusbet - Diego Simeone will want BIG Chelsea changes if he joins as manager in the summer
Agen TangKasneT - Diego Simeone is ready to move to Chelsea next summer - but will demand big changes are made.
Atletico Madrid boss Simeone is high on the Blues' short-list to succeed Jose Mourinho, who is under increasing pressure during a stuttering title defence that has now seen his champions lose 10 of 19 games in all competitions.
It
is understood the 45-year-old’s trusted assistant coach German Burgos
has learned English ahead of a potential move to the Premier League.
But former Argentina World Cup midfielder Simeone has grave concerns about Chelsea’s existing squad and their current plight.
He believes they need major investment and wants strong control on transfers.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is still torn over Mourinho’s future, but wants to give him every chance of turning things around before wielding the axe.
Mourinho
has now suffered seven defeats in his first 12 Premier League games,
but the club’s position is understood not to have changed after the
latest setback at Stoke.
However, the stadium ban Mourinho served on Saturday will not have
helped his cause as the hierarchy are likely to take a dim view.
Chelsea’s next game is at home to Norwich after the international break and he must be expected to win that.
Bandar Judi Online TangKasneT - A Champions League victory over Dynamo Kiev in midweek and the improved
performance in defeat to the Potters must also have bought him more
time.
However, Chelsea are now 13 points off fourth place and that has left
even senior players fearing they will miss out on Champions League
qualification for next season - a fate which is likely to spell the end
for Mourinho.
Abramovich’s long-term targets are Simeone and
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola but knows he will face a major battle
to persuade either to come to Chelsea — especially if they are not going
to be in the Champions League.
They could consider a return for
Carlo Ancelotti or recently-sacked Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers - who
was a coach in Chelsea’s youth set-up before embarking on his managerial
career - as short-term replacements if Mourinho is sacked in the next
few weeks.
It's understood there was some bad feeling from the west London club
towards Rodgers over loan deals that saw him take Josh McEachran to
Swansea, when he was in charge there, and Victor Moses to Liverpool.
It remains to be seen whether that would affect their thinking, but there is some reluctance.
Neither Simeone nor Guardiola are ready to come before next summer.
Bayern are planning new contract talks with Guardiola to stop him leaving at the end of this season.
Mirror
Sport revealed last year that Simeone has get-out clauses at Atletico
which persuaded him to stay even when big clubs such as Manchester City
were circling.
But the interest will not go away and it seems
certain that the Argentinian - who does not currently speak English -
will move to the Premier League soon.
