Kampusbet ~ " Arsenal can complete Champions League fightback against Olympiakos insists Arsene Wenger "
Agen Klik4D ~ Arsene Wenger last night promised Arsenal can complete their Champions League fightback after setting up a win-or-bust showdown in Athens.
Two-goal hero Alexis Sanchez helped Arsenal overcome Dinamo Zagreb and they must now beat Olympiakos on December 9 to reach the knock-out stages.
But
Wenger - whose side still need to better Olympiakos’ 3-2 win at the
Emirates to go through on the head-to-head - insisted Arsenal are only
making up for their blunders earlier in the competition.
Gunners boss Wenger said: “At least tonight we have come out with a chance. Let's make right what we didn't do right until now.
“We
wanted to come out of the game with a chance to qualify. We needed to
do the job, and Bayern needed to beat Olympiakos. Both did it well and
it gives us a chance. How big the chance is I don’t know but I believe
we can do it.
We just need to win. It might not be enough. But if you lead 1-0 they
will be in the situation where they can lose it and we will be in a
situation where we can win it.
“So we have to go there
and win the game. If you can win 1-0 you can win 2-0 as well. For us the
task has one advantage – it’s very clear.”
Wenger also praised red-hot Chilean Sanchez after another energetic performance inspired Arsenal’s victory while Mesut Ozil was also on target.

He’s just a very important player,” said Wenger. “At the moment in
real strikers we have just Giroud and Alexis. All these strikers are
needed. Giroud had a little problem with his ankle over the weekend and I
decided to give him a breather.
“Hector Bellerin came
off because he had a groin problem. Then I couldn’t take Sanchez off.
But now we have five days to recover.”
Wenger confirmed
that Francis Coquelin is out for three months with his knee injury but
tried to allay fears it could be even longer.
“It is what we feared. Let's be realistic and count 12 weeks,” said
Wenger. “He doesn't need surgery. It's a medial knee ligament.”
Arsenal
defender Hector Bellerin added: “The team knew it was very important
and had to turn up and everyone did. We had to play for our lives.
It
was an important test to be alive in the Champions League and we
responded very well.
“If get through we will be a threat.
We showed quality and creativity up front and defended solidly and we
showed the potential we have when we have our players back and add them
to this team.”
