Kampusbet - Steven Gerrard reveals he couldn't stop crying on the back of infamous Chelsea slip
Agen TangKAsnet - Steven Gerrard has revealed the heartache he went through in the immediate aftermath of his infamous slip against Chelsea two seasons ago.
Liverpool were on the brink of winning the Premier League for the first time when the Blues came to town on 27 April 2014.
Two more wins would most likely have guided the Reds to their first top flight title in 24 years.
Gerrard,
entering the twilight of his career, seemed destined to finally lift
the one trophy in English football he had never got his hands on.
But
in the first-half of the match against Jose Mourinho's side, Gerrard
slipped after failing to control a simple pass, allowing Demba Ba in to
score the opening goal of the match.
Bandar Judi Online TangKAsnet - Chelsea went on to record a 2-0 win. Manchester City went on to record their second Premier League title.
"I had wanted to win it with Liverpool for so long that, now it had
gone again, I could not hold my emotion in check," Gerrard says in his
new book, serialised in the Daily Mail.
"I
sat in the back of the car and felt the tears rolling down my face. I
hadn't cried for years but, on the way home, I couldn't stop. The tears
kept coming. I can't even tell you if the streets were thick with
traffic or as empty as I was on the inside. It was killing me.
"Instead
of hitting a long crossfield pass to set up a goal, making a decisive
tackle or curling the ball into the back of the Chelsea goal to seal our
victory, I had fallen over."
